Welcome to IES Järfälla!

IES Järfälla is a Year 5-9 school with high academic and social expectations of all its students. We want our students to become independent learners, critical thinkers, problem solvers who know how to, and want to learn. High social expectations means that we want our students to treat others with respect both inside and outside the classroom. We believe that a calm and safe learning environment lays the ground for academic progress. Students must feel safe in the school, and lessons need to be structured and calm for students to be able to learn.   

The school was established in 2002, and has in all this time upheld the values of IES, which are high academic expectations, safe and calm classrooms and bilingualism. About 50 % of our staff is Swedish, and 50 % comes from English - speaking countries, and many have worked in our school for years. We have very good relationships with our guardians and have an active and supportive Parent Teachers Association. Like all IES schools, we follow the national Swedish curriculum. 

Our school motto is Stronger Together because we believe we are stronger when we work together with, and learn from others: students, staff, guardians and former students. Welcome to IES Järfälla!
