Parent's café on "In the mind of a teenager"

Parent's café on "In the mind of a teenager"

Earlier this autumn we invited Anna Tebelius Bodin back to our Parental Café.

She talked about the teenage brain and what we, the adults around teenagers wether we are parents or teachers, need to know about it.

A very inspireing lecture for us all and if you missed it this time we hope to invite her back to IESJ again next year.

Antagningsprocess/ Admissionprocess 2019/2020

November/ November

Informationskväll hölls 14 november inbjudna var de med en registrering långt fram i kön./ Information evening 14th November children in the top of the queue was invited.

Antagningspaket sändes ut vecka 47 till de 62 som står längst fram i kön i åk 6 samt de 62 som visat intresse att starta ett år tidigare i åk 5. Paketet innehåller datum för sista svarsdag 5 december. Om svar ej inkommit till detta datum antar skolan att intresse av plats på skolan ej finns och nästa barn på tur kontaktas med erbjudande om plats./ Admission packages ware sent week 47 to the 62 first in line in year 6 and the 62 who showed interest to start a year earlier in year 5. The package contains the date for the last answer day December 5th. If no response is received to this date, the school assumes that there is no interest to start in the school and the next child in turn is contacted with a place offer.

December/ December

The school compiles the response rate and the next step in the admissions process starts by contacting the next child in line with an offer of place. This process then proceeds until all places to the next academic year in Grades 5 and 6 is filled.

Antagning/Admission

Vid antagning till skolan tillämpar vi ansökningsdatum samt syskonförtur, och inför antagning till nästa läsår vill vi påminna vårdnadshavare till våra elever om registrering av syskonförtur. Enligt information i utsänt mail.

When admitting students to our school, we look at the application date as well as giving priority to siblings, therefore before the admission process for the next academic year begins, we would like to remind the guardians of our students to register siblings in our school as instructed in email.

From the Principal

The start of the academic year 18/19

Welcome to the academic year of 18/19 at IESJ.

We are happy to welcome old and new students to the academic year of 18/19.

Most of what will happen during this year is familiar to you all. Our main priority is the same as every year:

- to provide a calm and safe environment where teachers teach and students learn.

- to set high academic standards and make sure every student reach their full potential with the support of our excellent staff.

- to give our students a command of the English language, the key to the world.

Some things will be new to you all, and that's also how it should be. We strive to constantly evolve and get even better by listening to the feedback we get from students, staff and guardians. From last years anonymous feedback we know that:

- we deliver on our promise of a calm and safe school.

- lessons start on time.

- we expect peace and quiet.

- our school is garbage and graffiti free.

We will continue to work improving the school playground and a new parcour park will be in place this fall.

One of the bigger changes for this term is brought on by Skolverket and the change they have made to the curriculum regarding IT and programming. At our school we started working with adding programming, IT and source criticism already last year and we are all set to meet the new requirements.

PRAO, vocational training, is also a big change this year brought on by Skolverket where they have made 10 days of PRAO in years 8 and 9 mandatory for all schools. Here at IESJ we have always had 10 days of PRAO and therefore will not really feel the effect of this new legislation.

All in all we are in for an exciting academic year and we are looking forward to all that it has to offer.

Welcome,

/Mrs Viljosson, Principal
