Admission to academic school year 2021/2022

The admission process for next academic school year has started.

Invitation to our information evening (this year digitaly) has been sent out to children firts in line and their guardians.

IESJ invites more students than the places available, that means an invitation are not a garantee for a place in our school.

Week 47 admission package will be sent out to the 62 students first in line for year 5 and 6. After last day for answer the school

compiles the response rate and the next step in the admissions process starts by contacting the next child in line with an offer of place.

This process then proceeds until all places to the next academic year in Grade 5 and 6 is added.

Start of Term, Autumn 2020

Start of Term, Autumn 2020

And suddenly it’s October 1st! Seven weeks of getting started, meeting new classes, and teachers, reestablishing routines, team-building, setting expectations and we think we can say the school year is up and running now.

It has been a good start, the weather has been kind to us, so students are still having PE outside, and our playground is full of active, ball-throwing students at break. Others are happy to simply chill on the benches.

Walking around the school we see good, calm lessons taking place. We are sure you keep yourselves updated on SS and there would be too much to mention every topic in every year group,  in a letter like this.

Lessons and learning have been punctuated with other activities that have been appreciated. Our first “Stronger Together” event was of course crazy hair day which brought in money for Lebanon, and Höstlunken (again a sunny morning) raised double the amount of money to help children in Yemen. Thank you for your generosity in sponsoring your child in that event! We currently have 2 clubs in the afternoon, house competitions and a very popular Fantasy Football Competition with 80 eager managers - thanks to Mr Cherry.

Our Equal Treatment Plan is referred to regularly, through monthly klassråds and reinforced in various ways in lessons. Year 5 will have classes in conflict resolution, Year 6 talk about Grit and friendship, Year 7 are working on self-esteem, Year 8 are having DISA to help them deal with both positive and negative feelings, and  Year 9 talk about dealing with stress and change.

As a management, we have drafted a plan that will be put into action should Covid -19 return - a plan we hope not to have to implement. As you know our SPTs will take place digitally this term, and now is the time to book a time with your child’s mentor.

Wishing you all a healthy, and happy October.

Crazy Hair Day and Fundraising

What a school start we have had! A lot of  TeamBuilding has been going the first weeks, and the Crazy Hair Day was really fun. We all fundraised 6500SEK to Lebanon via UNICEF.

Thank you students, we are stronger together!
